Fishing on the Derwent and Bike Riding

We have absolute waterfront at all our properties and the fishing is great all year round.  At Austins Ferry you will mostly find fish that can tolerate brackish water such as sea-run trout, salmon, flathead, cod, eels, and bream.  Check the internet for tackle and what the fish we mention look like. A good resource is http://www.tasfish.com. We are near several large parks and the bike track if you don’t mind peddling about on one of our bikes.  They are not new but they are free.

Free of Charge

We supply basic fishing gear, canoes with life jackets and bicycles with helmets.  Enjoy canoeing or fishing on the Derwent or other nearby spots and bike riding in the many excellent close parks or on the bike track to Hobart.

Pets and Other Animals

You may find ducks, water rats, rabbits, native hens, potoroo and wallabies on our properties.  You are welcome to bring your own pet to join the menagerie. All of our properties have yards and there are three parks within 100 metres for exercise. Animals that are house trained and do not leave hair inside are allowed inside but please not on beds or furniture.  You are responsible to clean up any hair or other nuisances left by them. If they chew anything or do other damage we think it reasonable to ask you to pay for it.

We will put the rubbish out every second Wednesday or early Thursday.
